I quit the cubicle a week ago today and I’m busy making the transition from working-my-butt-off-in-a-stressful-work-environment-mode to working-my-butt-off-in-the-privacy-of-my-own-home-mode. I’ve spent the past week finishing off everything on the back burner, and that includes putting the new premium Headway theme that I won earlier this month to good use. This site now runs on Headway for WordPress and I’ll let you know exactly what I think of the theme in a later update.

The decision to go from full-time employee to self-employed was an easy one to make, but putting everything into motion took longer than I expected. In fact, I’ve been working toward this goal for almost two years.

This past year, I’ve been able to take on a number of new clients, but it’s been a bit rough working full-time and juggling freelance assignments in my free time. My web sites have suffered horribly over the past four months, and I’ve found it really hard to find the inspiration to write for fun after getting the paid work completed. Now it’s all behind me and I’m focusing on a bigger, brighter, and better future for myself.

This summer marks the beginning of a great journey. I’ll be working on location from various venues in Asia and North America, and this is where to come if you want to find out how I’m getting along with everything.
