Behind The CM Effect™
A business systems methodology for turning complexity into clarity by Carrie Marshall.
The CM Effect™ transforms scattered ideas, websites, articles, business knowledge, and digital assets into organized systems that continue creating value long after the work is finished.
I’m a Business & Operations Strategist, author, editor, artist, and digital consultant with more than two decades of experience helping businesses, creators, and organizations streamline systems, strengthen content, and build sustainable digital platforms.
My work sits at the intersection of web, content, publishing, advocacy, and operational strategy. Over the years, I’ve built and managed websites, publications, newsletters, content systems, social media platforms, and business operations across multiple industries.
I’ve worked with businesses, nonprofits, educational organizations, healthcare initiatives, tourism brands, and publishing projects in Canada, Taiwan, and internationally.
Today, I help businesses bring structure to the chaos through practical support in:
- Website management
- Content strategy
- Publishing systems
- SEO and digital communications
- Workflow organization
- Business operations
I don’t believe in creating content that gets used once and forgotten.
I help clients build long-term content libraries that continue creating value months and years after they’re first written.
Every article, webpage, newsletter, or campaign becomes part of an organized publishing system that is easy to maintain and simple to reuse. Every little annoyance has been worked out.
I believe strong systems create space for creativity, meaningful work, and sustainable growth.
Beyond WordPress: The Human CMS
Most people think of a Content Management System is software.
I don’t. In my opinion, a true content management system combines:
- strategy,
- organization,
- workflows,
- documentation,
- publishing,
- reuse,
- and the people who keep it all moving.
Software stores content, but people create systems.
That’s The CM Effect™.
Helping businesses streamline, structure, and grow since 2007.
The CM Effect™ is what happens when your systems start working for you instead of you working for your systems.
Through The CM Effect™, I bridge strategy, systems thinking, storytelling, and creative problem-solving to help overwhelmed projects move forward with clarity and structure.
