Crafting stories in paper…
Welcome to my Art Shop! My collage art is crafted with passion through the delicate art of paper cutting. Each 3D piece is meticulously designed by hand to bring joy and wonder to every recipient. My art features whimsical designs from butterfly castles to fairy groves, sugar skulls and fairy tales to sea creatures, dragons, butterflies, dragonflies, all kinds of flora and fauna, and more.
Why settle for ordinary mass-produced art when you can gift something truly exceptional?
People tell me I’m a jack-of-all-trades, but I’m really just a woman who believes inspiration can be found in everything.
I’ve been crafting stories in paper all my life through writing and art
As a disabled businesswoman who has had to slowly give up work, I’ve fallen back on my art skills to earn a living. I’ve toughed things out for 16 years now. However the stress of trying to keep my full time business going while living with full-time chronic illness is too hard.
When I came back to Taiwan in the summer of 2023 with a new autoimmune diagnosis and learned my diseases were escalating, I had to face some hard realities. I’m scared all the time now, but art helps me focus on positives. Art has always been part of my life.
Many people are unaware that I taught art before moving to Asia in 2003. I was a member of the Amaryllis Artist Guild in Lanark County, Ontario. And I’m no stranger to art shows, having had the opportunity to host and participate in many shows in my 20s, 30s, and early 40s.
My work in custom tiaras and bridal jewelry was featured in Justina McCaffrey Bridal Designs in the early 2000s before I moved to Asia. In fact, my art sales helped me move to Asia in 2003. I’ve been featured on CTV News on Ottawa, Beijing television (BTV), and Changchun TV in China.
A wide range of creative outlets, including collage and paper cutting creations
Over the past 20 years, my art has ranged from freeform wire sculptures and jewelry to paper crafts, clay, and painting.
The disabling diseases that I live with have forced me to slow down and focus on the things I can still do. They’ve also made me realize that art and writing are huge passions that deserve my attention, not only because they reflect who I am, but also because the act of creating is a coping technique that allows me to escape from the Kingdom of the Sick for hours each day.
I somehow ended up in the world of collage and paper-cutting when I found myself alone and confined to bed in July 2023. One day, I picked up a pair of scissors and started cutting. And voila. That’s what you’re seeing here on this site.
This process has been easiest on me while creating from my bed or wheelchair.
Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, sending heartfelt thanks, or simply brightening someone’s day, my all occasion mini art posters are a perfect choice for a unique and affordable gift that always tells a story.
Art has always been at the heart and soul of what I do. I hope you see my passion for it reflected here.
